Getting started

How fast can I make my first call?
Founding-beta accounts are onboarded within 24 hours of approval. Once you have a key, the cURL example in /voice/quickstart rings your phone in ~8 seconds. Most teams ship a production call flow in under an hour.
Do I need a Twilio account?
No. We bundle the carrier — phone numbers come with the API. $1/mo per local DID, $5/mo for vanity. If you already have Twilio numbers, we port them in 5-7 business days (we handle the LOA paperwork).
What if I want to bring my own carrier (BYOC)?
Supported, on Business plan and up. We accept SIP trunks from Telnyx, SignalWire, Vonage, and Twilio. Day-30 launch supports US carriers only; EU BYOC ships Day 60.

Pricing & billing

Is the $0.04/min real?
Yes. Mini-tier $0.04/min, flagship $0.09/min, default 70/30 mix is $0.055/min effective. No hidden charges. Phone numbers and briefing context are bundled. See the live calculator on /voice.
How does this compare to OpenAI's gpt-realtime-2?
OpenAI charges $0.16-0.33/min for gpt-realtime mini and $0.30-0.55/min for gpt-realtime-2, plus you bring Twilio (~$0.014/min inbound). All-in, OpenAI is 4-8× our price at typical volumes. Full breakdown at /voice/migrate/openai.
Founding-beta pricing — is it really 30% off forever?
Yes. First 50 customers lock the 30%-off rate ($0.028/min effective on the mini tier) for the lifetime of the account. The rate doesn't expire when you grow. Written into the MSA — see /voice/trust.
Is there an annual prepay discount?
Yes — annual prepay is 16.67% bonus credits (~14.3% effective discount). Available on every paid tier.

Compliance & data

Where is my customer audio stored?
It isn't. Audio transits through Durable Object memory and is discarded on STT acknowledgment. 0 bytes at rest. If you opt into transcript retention (off by default), only the text transcripts are stored — never the audio.
Do you train on my data?
No. Not on audio, not on transcripts, not on system prompts. Written into ToS §4.2. Founding-customer accounts include the full anti-clone clause that prohibits us from training similar systems for competitors in your market.
Are you GDPR-compliant for EU customers?
Yes. EU data residency (Frankfurt + Ireland) for EU accounts. DPA available on signing — include "DPA" in your founding-beta application. Voice is GDPR Article 9 sensitive personal data; we handle it as such.
What about HIPAA for healthcare voice?
HIPAA BAA available Day 180. We're scoping the engagement now. If healthcare is your vertical, mention it in your founding-beta application — we'll prioritize.
TCPA compliance for outbound?
Outbound is locked to inbound-only for the first 7 days of any account. After that, we require: TCPA opt-in record on file, first-turn AI disclosure baked into every call, opt-out keyword honored in real-time. We don't enable outbound auto-dialer functionality without verified business + TCPA legal opinion on file.

Migration & integration

I'm already on Vapi / Bland / Twilio + DIY. How hard is migrating?
Easy. Codemods at /voice/migrate — most teams ship in 30-60 minutes. Founding-beta customers get a founder pair-programming on Slack during the migration.
Is the OpenAI Realtime SDK really a 5-line change?
Yes. Change the import, change the model name, change the API key env var. Webhook signature header rename is automated by the codemod. 74/77 events at launch — see /voice/compat.
Can I keep my existing phone numbers?
Yes. Email port@toolkit-llm.com with your numbers + losing carrier; we handle the LOA. FCC requires 5-7 business days. Cutover happens at 11pm PT on porting date with <30s downtime.
Does it work with image input?
Not at Day 30. Vision (image input mid-call) is on the Day-90 release path along with voice cloning. Track at /voice/compat.

Reliability

What's the SLA?
Day 30: 99.9% uptime target with credit-back on degradation, no formal SLA contract until Day 60. Day 60: 99.9% formal SLA with 10× credit per minute of downtime over the threshold. Day 270: 99.95% with SOC 2 Type II.
What if you go down?
Live status at /status (system-wide) plus per-account latency metrics in your dashboard. Multi-region failover (East Bay + Oregon + Frankfurt) — a regional outage shouldn't drop calls. If a call drops mid-conversation, our SDK auto-reconnects within 800ms and resumes from the last committed turn.
What's your TTFT and barge-in latency?
TTFT p95 ~174ms (mini tier), ~168ms (flagship). Barge-in p95 ~158ms. Live numbers on the badge at /voice. Independent verification at /voice/voicebench.
How do I get help fast?
Founding-beta customers get a private Slack channel with the founders. Average first-response time during business hours PT: under 30 minutes. Email founders@toolkit-llm.com for everything else.
